Why Arcadia?
-
Flexible multi-functional space
All our pods can be tailored to your needs and can be adapted over time as requirements change. So, whether it’s smaller support units, office space or SEND teaching space, our pods are the ideal solution for any school looking to make a long-term investment into its provision whilst successfully meeting the needs of its pupils.
-
Limited sensory impact
With SEND provision in mind, all our pods are designed to limit sensory impact but with a lighting system with diverse settings that can be fully adapted to suit every child. Safety features are also built-in, with finger guards, covered switches, safety glass and a range of locks available to suit.
-
High end Pod Control system
Our Pod Control system enables staff to control all aspects of our pods. From the lighting to the heating and sound systems, all elements can be controlled via the built-in touch-control system. Our Pod Control System can also be positioned in a range of places and even hidden away to prevent any sensory impact to pupils.
-
Air Quality
We prioritise the health and wellbeing of both pupils and staff and the EdPod provides an exceptionally fresh and clean environment in which to work. Air quality within the Pod is automatically monitored and controlled, particularly CO2 levels and temperature. HEPA filters can be installed during high pollen periods and air quality is further improved by the built in UV air purification system which inactivates airborne pathogens and micro-organisms.
-
Minimal running costs
By following the recommendations of the Passivhaus Insitut the Pod is a highly efficient unit. Our adaptive air condition unit heats as well as cools and uses advanced air sourced heat pump technology (1KW of electricity will produce 3.8KW of heat energy). Include the mechanical ventilation and heat recovery (MVHR) system and the low energy lighting and you will see why our Pods have industry leading minimal running costs.
-
Sustainability
We only use the best materials that are responsibly sourced to build our Pods and we comply with all environmental and quality standards. Built in obsolescence is an anathema to us and we build our units to last. We are passionate about sustainability in all its forms and in particular support the aims of the Circular Economy with the materials being reclaimed and recycled, reused and refurbished or repaired and maintained at the end of the useful life of the product.
-
50-year warranty
The durability and quality of our pods is second to none and as they are built to last and able to weather daily use they require minimal maintenance. The Accoya natural wood cladding, not only looks stunning, but is rot resistant and comes with an unrivalled 50 year warranty against rot.
-
A relocatable asset
Right from its inception the EdPod has been designed for easy lifting and transport. It is literally plug and play and could simply be picked up by a lorry and relocated to another area within the school grounds or another school altogether. In fact, if the requirement for it no longer exists it could be sold on to another school or to the domestic market.

Innovation
We have been market leaders in the innovative design and construction particularly and have won the Queens Award for our innovation. We have also developed the Wave which has taken the hospitality sector by storm and have adapted it for the education sector with the EdWave. Our new EdKurv is a fully DDA compliant teaching unit with the option of having a Changing Places toilet.
